After I had my daughter I had the hardest time finding a baby carrier that didn't hurt my back, bothered my baby, or was not so uncomfortable. I never thought I would ever find a descent baby carrier. I then started researching baby carriers and came to find that all of the baby carriers I had been purchasing could give my child hip dysplasia. I eventually gave up on the idea till I arrived to Hawaii.
Us moms and dads know that feeling when you are on a good adventure and hear those 3 little words, "Mom/Dad, I'm HUNGRY!!!!" Yes those words are all to familiar to all parents. I swear they burn through those calories 10x faster then we do so I have learned to pack good snacks that will keep them fuller longer and are healthy for them.
Father's Day weekend. The weekend that everyone wants to go out with their families and have a good time. This is the weekend that my husband and I decided to go to Cummin's Falls and hike the beautiful trail. The falls were breathtaking but there's so much more to it. This hike was absolutely perfect.
A beautiful day such as today, where the sky is bright and sunny, full of life ad not too hot... is the kind of day where if I was living back in Hawaii I would grab my girls, some snacks, our Hydroflasks filled with ice cold water, my Ergo, my GoPro, and gone on a beautiful hike. Now hiking with littles ones is not easy so sometimes choosing a hike that is good for the kids can be a little challenging. Here is a list of my top five favorite hikes to do with my little girls that have either beautiful views or gorgeous waterfalls.
Manatees, flamingos, foxes, and bobcats. These are just a few of the many animals that you will see while walking through the beautiful Homosassa Springs State Park. My husband and I decided to come here for my daughter's second birthday. We all love animals and wanted to do something different that we can all enjoy. Seeing the excitement on my daughters' face every time they saw an animal was priceless. They were so amazed by each animal especially the beautiful manatees that were swimming around the park. One of our favorites was the flamingo. There was one flamingo that kept going in circles and it was the most hilarious thing that my daughters ever saw. They couldn't stop laughing at the flamingo's silliness that day. Let me tell you all about it our little family adventure.
The Ehukai Pillbox hike is a fun one and full of gorgeous views. The walk up was amazing but the return trip turned out to be a little longer than expected. We accidentally took a wrong on our way back but it was definitely worth it so don't let this post fool you. We had a very exciting day and I will do it all over again if I could. Here's all the Do's and Don't's for this hike. Just a few key pointers and things I learned on my time there and how to get prepared for this gorgeous hike.
Oahu is filled with beauty and treasures for the wanderlust at heart. I had the chance to find the upper Makua Cave and hike it with my cousin Brittney. The reason why so many places remain hidden is because its more fun to go find it on your own with those who are big adventure seekers as well than to give things away easy for others to find. Its like going on a little treasure seeking adventure. Trust me its worth the wanderlust, climbing, hiking, gorgeous views, and most of all... the memories that will last forever!
If you are looking for an easy hike to do with your children that has absolutely gorgeous views all around then this is the hike for you. It is a paved hike, with a lighthouse, and several resting spots. There's four different paths but the paved one is very stroller friendly and perfect for taking all those young ones with you. The views are amazing the whole way up with several resting/view points. Here's what you will need to enjoy every minute of your experience here.
Good day everyone. I am so excited that I got to spend some time with my best friend. Who ever thought that her ship would stop here in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and I would get to show her around the island. She wasn't here for too long but enough time for us to create memories. It has been 4 years since I last saw her. I remember when we were stationed in Ft. Campbell, KY and she was in MEPS in Nashville, TN and we went over there to say goodbye before she got sent off to basic training and here she is traveling around the world and getting far in her military career.
I love this hike. It is very family friendly and perfect for anyone, even those that are handicapped. It is a paved hike (walk) all the way going through beautiful gardens and small historical buildings with history stories all throughout. They also have a little shuttle bus to take you to the waterfall and back to the main entrance. Let's walk!!!
