Growing up I was always terrified of being a mom but at the same time I wanted to be one. I was scared to see what kind of mom I would be or if I would screw up at the whole MOM role especially now a days in the judgmental world we live in. Don't spank your kids, do give them so many chores, be all organic, why are you using that lotion, breastfeeding is disgusting, you have to breast feed cause it's the only thing that's good for your kid... all these rules that people place and judge you for. Yet here I am, a mom, truly blessed by God with two little girls and super grateful that He gave me the strength to handle these crazy little divas.

Being a mom comes with loads of fun especially when you combine fun with all the different things you can do each season. Fall has just started here in the US and you can already feel the morning cool coming in bringing shivers to your children's little bones. But that doesn't mean you have to bundle up and dream of summer all day. Grab your kids and stay busy with these 20 fun things to do with them this fall season.
Friday afternoon after having picked up my daughter from school she couldn't help her excitement. I asked her what went on in school and she excitedly told me about how she learned about the solar eclipse and couldn't wait to see it tomorrow. My daughter is 5 so she doesn't quiet understand that tomorrow is really tomorrow. To her it's tomorrow, later, or next week. Once we got home she drew a picture of how the solar eclipse works and how the moon covers the sun and we were going to be able to see it with our special cool glasses that daddy got from work.
Kindergarten. Oh the horror and the excitement. The rush! As a mom you always hear all the horror stories of kids bullying other kids and even hitting them and then their mom's see their kids going home crying and never wanting to go back. You start to remember all of the bad times you had as a kid when other girls will make fun of you for any little thing or bully you around for being different. Then you start trying to think positive things and not freak out so much. Try to remember those times you made your first best friend, your first day of school, all the fun games you played during recess and then you start to pray to God that your daughter will have a beautiful school year with no issues. After all that is all we can do. Put things in His hands to guide your daughter's way while she's away at school.
We went on our first camping trip together as a family several weeks ago and little did I know what to expect to pack for my little ones. I have gone to many camping trips growing up but none with my little ones so this was a new one for me. I was literally making a list, rewriting the list, and making new lists trying to remember everything my dad used to pack for us on our childhood camping trips. I did grab tons of stuff and probably over packed, or so I thought. I even unpacked and repacked several times. I probably stressed it more then what I should have. Typical me! Always overthinking everything but still forgets to bring something. Who else is like that??
After I had my daughter I had the hardest time finding a baby carrier that didn't hurt my back, bothered my baby, or was not so uncomfortable. I never thought I would ever find a descent baby carrier. I then started researching baby carriers and came to find that all of the baby carriers I had been purchasing could give my child hip dysplasia. I eventually gave up on the idea till I arrived to Hawaii.
Us moms and dads know that feeling when you are on a good adventure and hear those 3 little words, "Mom/Dad, I'm HUNGRY!!!!" Yes those words are all to familiar to all parents. I swear they burn through those calories 10x faster then we do so I have learned to pack good snacks that will keep them fuller longer and are healthy for them.
Looking for something fun to do in Orlando but can't afford to go to the parks. Disney Springs, or as they call it, "Downtown Disney," will be your cheapest option. So many cool stores, restaurants, bars, kiosks, and activities to do for both adults and children... or even the "child at heart" adults like my husband and I. Let me tell you about my time in Disney Springs and share with you all the beautiful pictures of the park.
I was so excited to move to Hawaii back in 2014, new place and paradise, but when I actually sat down and thought about the trip I didn't realize that it will be 10 plus hours of flying, driving, and layovers of trips to just go see our family or even move back to the mainland. Going to Hawaii or leaving Hawaii my flight has always been about 10 hours. Yes an almost 10 hour flight from Honolulu, Hawaii to Atlanta, Georgia. I did this trip several times and each time it got easier but that's cause I learned what to do to make my trip more pleasant and relaxed with my two little girls (Bella 4 years old and Isa 1 year old). Here's how I managed to make our last trip 10 times easier and more pleasant.
There's nothing better then a beach day with my family. The smiles, the giggles, the sand, the tanning sessions and even small and crazy swimming lessons. It's all worth it. I love going to the beach with my family and I'm sure everyone else can relate. I mean it is the beach. Who doesn't like the beach? A beach day with those you love the most. How much better can it get?
